В статье рассматриваются образы русских и индейцев в репрезентации американского капитана торгового корабля «Джуно» Дж. Д’Вулфа, побывавшего в российских владениях в Америке и пересекшего Сибирь в начале XIX в. Одновременно с начавшимся еще в конце XVIII в. процессом интеграции в состав Российской империи Аляски она постепенно входит и в зону экономических и политических интересов США. Американские купцы, посещая российские поселения и вступая в контакт с их жителями на северо-западе континента, формировали образы не только индейцев, но и русских.
The article considers the images of Russians and Indians in American merchant ship captain John d’Wolf’s representation. He visited Russian possessions in America and crossed Siberia in the beginning of the 19th century. Since the end of 18th century Alaska was being integrated into the Russian Empire simultaneously it gradually entered the area of economic and political interests of the USA. American merchants, visiting Russian settlements and encountering their inhabitants in the north-west of the continent, created images of both Indians and Russians.
