Статья посвящена анализу роли литовской элиты в выборе приоритетов политики республики после выхода из СССР. На конкретных примерах рассматривается активное продвижение властными группами идеи вступления страны в ЕС и НАТО. Обращается внимание на возможные риски в связи с эскалацией ситуации в Балтийском регионе.

The article deals with the role of the Lithuanian elite in the choice of policy priorities of the republic after the exit from the USSR. Using specific examples, the author analyzes the main objectives associated with the entry into the EU and NATO which where actively promoted by the Lithuanian power groups. The possible risks in connection with the escalation of the situation in the Baltic region are examined.
