Выбор англоязычных стран обусловлен тем, что значительное количество исследований, посвященных тактике Коминтерна в отношении Латинской Америки и деятельности его секций публикуются именно в США, Великобритании, Канаде и Австралии. Главным образом историков интересует, в чем заключалось влияние Коминтерна на тактику латиноамериканских компартий и каков был характер этого влияния. Констатируется, что традиционалистский подход к анализу деятельности Коминтерна, который оформился до и во время холодной войны по-прежнему значительно представлен в англоязычной историографии. Однако, окончательное утверждение нового подхода («ревизионистского») способствовало определенному пересмотру существующих тенденций: в статье присутствуют оценки как отрицательного, так и положительного влияния Коминтерна на отдельно взятые компартии, на политическую ситуацию в стране или регионе. Принадлежность к этим направлениям достаточно условная, однако ключевые расхождения исследователей по основным вопросам, а также участие в дискуссиях и определение своим оппонентам вполне устоявшихся взглядов позволяют так или иначе определить научную направленность их работ.</p></abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>историография</kwd><kwd>традиционалисты</kwd><kwd>ревизионисты</kwd><kwd>Третий период</kwd><kwd>Народный фронт</kwd><kwd>Х.
