В данной статье автор пытается определить место и роль Бразилии в мировой политике и выяснить, какая модель порядка считается приемлемой для современного этапа развития международных отношений. Изучается вопрос о готовности Бразилии занять место в ряду ведущих мировых держав и ее способность стать крупным региональным интеграционным центром на латиноамериканском пространстве. Прослеживается эволюция взглядов руководства страны на ее место в формирующемся мировом порядке с момента распада биполярной системы, а также оценки современного внешнеполитического курса Бразилии со стороны экспертов латиноамериканских научных изданий. Наконец, автор затрагивает особенно актуальные в последние месяцы вопросы – дальнейшее функционирование трека БРИКС по итогам саммита в Йоханнесбурге, где были выработаны критерии для кандидатов на вступление и определены первые новые члены, которые вступят в клуб с 2024 г. Автор приходит к выводу о том, что в настоящее время Бразилия пока не готова стать новой великой державой, но активно стремится играть одну из ведущих ролей в новой формирующейся системе международных отношений не только как региональный центр, но и как полноправный игрок.
