Interest groups as the object of scientific research: towards a theoretical and methodological synthesis
Abstract
The article is devoted to various theoretical and methodological approaches to the interpretation of interest groups as an object of research. Compares the concept of a pluralist theory of interest groups, public choice theory (M. Olson), communitarians and social capital theorists, the conclusions of T. Parsons and O. Williamson. A comparison of approaches demonstrates the necessity and the prospects of methodological synthesis in the analysis of the phenomenon of interest groups. New scientific knowledge can be the result of this synthesis, not requiring new paradigmatic revolutions.
