RSUH/RGGU Bulletin began in 1996 and resumed its work in 2006. The “Political Science. History. International Relations. Foreign Area Studies. Oriental Studies” series started being published in 2015 and united the two series – “International Relations. Foreign Area Studies” (2009-2014) and “Oriental Studies. African Studies” (2009-2014).
Over the years, the series gained popularity among the members of Russian and foreign academic communities (involving researchers, educators, representatives of the expert and media environment) providing them the opportunity for a dialogue. For the last 10 years the journal has been open to both – the novice and recognized, Russian and foreign researchers. It has also welcomed the proceedings of the most prominent scientific international conferences, the verbatim records of Round Tables and the reviews of scientific manuscripts and teaching guides. In the time of its evolution RSUH/RGGU Bulletin up-dated its content focusing on the study of political phenomena, social communications, political practices, historical and socio-cultural constituents of international relations and area studies, expert studies and foreign Russian studies as the integrative areas of historical, political, and social sciences, new forms and methods of modern diplomacy, regional and global dimensions of national and international security.
Under the conditions of an increasing flow of publications caused by the specific system of the scientific appraisal and the performance evaluation of the research staff, the editorial board of the journal succeeded in maintaining a high level of requirements to the quality of papers. Not only leading Russian but also prominent foreign scholars have been included in the staff of the journal editorial board. As a result, the requirements of RSUH/RGGU Bulletin have approached the Western standards of scientific periodicals. As a whole, the series contributes to the growth of the scientific rating of the RSUH and its integration into the international academic community.
