Карибский кризис в оценках современных англоязычных историков

Статья посвящена анализу современной англоязычной историографии Карибского кризиса 1962 г. В статье представлены мнения историков из США, Канады, Великобритании и Австралии. Выбор стран обусловлен тем, что там в последние десятилетия было опубликовано значительное количество работ, посвященных рассматриваемой проблеме. Проанализированы позиции «традиционалистов», критикующих действия Н.С. Хрущева, «ревизионистов», негативно оценивающих внешнюю политику США в этот период, которая, по их мнению, главным образом способствовала развязыванию кризиса. Также в статье освещаются ряд других вопросов, связанных с Карибским кризисом: участие в событиях Великобритании, Канады, Австралии; роль в разрешении конфликта Генерального секретаря ООН У Тана; необходимость расширения хронологических рамок кризиса; общественные настроения; анализируются рассекреченные магнитофонные записи ExComm (органа, состоявшего из правительственных должностных лиц, созданного для консультирования Дж. Кеннеди во время Карибского кризиса). Автор приходит к выводу, что дискуссия в отношении Карибского кризиса в историографии должна способствовать увеличению числа публикаций и решению ранее недостаточно изученных вопросов, связанных с конфликтом 60-летней давности, в том числе с противоположных позиций.
